You're Not Lazy

We all have a finite amount of energy each day.

You might look at someone and think;

"How do they have energy to do all these things?"

They don't.

But they have learned to optimise and plan how their energy is used.

And they take into account that their energy is limited each day.

When you scroll social media, you use energy.

When you watch a TV show, you use energy.

When you play video games, you use a lot of energy.

There's nothing wrong with doing any of these things.

It's fun.

But, be aware that it takes energy.

Nothing is free.

So, when you think;

"Why am I so god damn lazy?"

You're not.

You're just using high amounts of energy on things you believe requires low energy.

Because they have become habits.

And habits requires less thinking.

There's a lot to go into on habits, but I would need another post to cover it.

A great book on habits I recommend is Atomic Habits by James Clear.

But in essence, we all have finite energy each day.

Knowing that and planning accordingly is one of the keys to creating a purposeful and succesful life.

P.S. Always remember Granny's Rule; If it's tough, takes a lot of energy and willpower, do it first thing in the morning when you're at peak energy.

See you in the next one.
